We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Service Manager/Director to oversee our service departments across several locations in West Islip, NY. This pivotal role involves leading a team of automotive and motorcycle service technicians, ensuring excellence in service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of automotive and motorcycle maintenance and repair, along with proven management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the service departments, ensuring high-quality maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles.
- Lead, train, and mentor service technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement service protocols and standards in line with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Manage customer service operations, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to the satisfaction of clients.
- Oversee scheduling and workflow management to optimize service delivery and productivity.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, liaising with the parts department for timely procurement of components.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and cleanliness standards within the service areas.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of vehicles and motorcycles.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices, integrating these into the service operations.
- Prepare and manage budgets, set performance objectives, and monitor financial performance of the service departments.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in automotive service management or a related leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive and motorcycle repair and maintenance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Business Management, or related field is preferred.
- Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record; motorcycle endorsement is beneficial.
